Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded: Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega,... 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, ... have right to the tree of life, and... enter ... the city."

Remission usually means the cancellation of a debt, charge, or penalty. It may be the process of healing from a severe disease like cancer. It also refers to the forgiveness of sins. In Matthew 26 Jesus Christ says, "27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." Jesus Christ has died for the whole world. But when it comes for the remission of sins, the blood is applied only to many, but not to the whole world. It does not tell how many. Why will the whole world not come to the blood for the remission of sins? It is simply because there are many pre-requisites before the blood of Jesus Christ. Let us find them. Mark 1:4 says, "John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins." According to this verse, repentance of sins and water baptism by immersion are required for the remission of sins. Luke 3:3, 24:47, Acts 2:38, and a few other verses also say the same thing. Further, the forgiveness or the remission of sins by blood of Jesus Christ happens when we walk in the light as Jesus Christ walks. Please refer to the lesson in this link: "Forgiven." Acts 10:43 says, "... through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." Most Christians cling on this verse for the remission of their sins. But, instead of believing Jesus Christ, they believe the preachers, and whatever the preachers say about Jesus Christ. Believing Jesus Christ is to believe what Jesus Christ says, but not what the preachers say about Jesus Christ. If we believe Jesus Christ, we will do what he tells us to do in order to inherit eternal life. So, let us obey Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins.
