How to believe and accept Jesus Christ?

"Mark 16:15 preach the gospel to every creature. Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded: Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega .. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, .. they .. have right to the tree of life, and .. enter .. the city."

How to believe and accept Jesus Christ?

1. What is to believe Jesus Christ?

If we believe that a person is strong, he is six feet tall, he has a lot of money, he gives big donations, etc, all these are believing about the person, but not believing the person. But, if the person told you that he will give one million dollar to you, if you go to his house the next day and ring his door bell at 6:00 am, then if you believe him and if you like to get the million dollar, you will ring his door bell the next day at 6:00 am. If you do what Jesus Christ told you to do, it is the proof of your belief in him. This is believing. So, in order to believe someone, the person must tell you something. If you believe what he says, it is believing the person. Now, let us see what is to believe Jesus Christ.

Christians think that they believe Jesus Christ. But in reality, they believe many things about Jesus Christ. They believe their preachers, who tell many things about Jesus Christ and it is actually believing preachers. Believing Jesus Christ is to believe what Jesus Christ tells. Jesus Christ told his disciples: "Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." This is what he told his disciples. That is, we must teach his commandments to peoples so that those who believe him may do what he says to do, to inherit eternal life. This is believing Jesus Christ. On the other hand, if we believe what he has done, miracles, raised the dead, he died for our sins on the cross, etc, are believing things about him, but it is not believing him. So it will not give us eternal life. But, preachers tell us that it is enough to believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross, etc, and it is good enough for us to inherit eternal life, even if we do not do what Jesus tells us to do. But, believing preachers will not qualify us to inherit eternal life. If we do not do what Jesus Christ tells us to do, it is not believing Jesus Christ, but it is believing preachers. They argue saying; that they still believe Jesus Christ that he will take them to heaven. It is deceptive argument and it is lie of preachers. 'Believe Jesus Christ', is to believe what Jesus Christ says, but not what preachers say about Jesus Christ. These preachers lie to deceive people. If we believe Jesus Christ, we will do what Jesus Christ tells us to do to inherit eternal life.

For example: Jesus Christ said, "John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin." But, Christians commit sin and call themselves as servants of God, but not servants of sin. "Matthew 7:24 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." But Christians call Jesus Christ as Lord and keep committing sins. The 'will' of God the Father is this: 1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: They will not do the 'will' of God the Father, but keep calling Jesus Christ as Lord. They believe preachers, who say that Jesus Christ will take them to heaven, but do not believe the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Commandments are not hard to obey

They, who don't have the spirit, cannot even obey the Old Testament commandments. If it is so, how can they do the spiritual commandments of the New Testament without the spirit? So as usual, the false workers of Christianity twist God's word to justify themselves and to make it easy for their followers. "2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

The obedience of the spiritual commandments comes naturally to those who are truly spiritual. It is not grievous (burdensome or difficult) for those who love him. "1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings:---." God says it clearly that those who does not love God, will not keep his commandments.

3. Believe and Accept Jesus Christ as Lord

"Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" To believe him is to believe what he says. But belief is not only making a statement that you believe him, but the proof is in doing them. That is, when we call Jesus Christ as our Lord, he requires us to mean what we say. That is, Lord means that he is our master, then we must obey our master. The main practical principle is this: If we accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of our life, then only we can and will obey him. But if we do not accept him as our Lord, then when we call him Lord, we will mean as if 'Lord' is his first name. We will not mean that he is our boss and our owner. If we call him Lord as it is his name, then he says that we neither believe him, nor accept him as our Lord. Lord is his status, but not his name. Since he is Lord, he demands obedience as a commander demands obedience from a soldier. So, if we believe and accept that he is our Lord, we must obey what he says. If we don't obey him and we say that he is our Lord, then we lie because our obedience is the one that makes him as our Lord. Then, believe and accept the Lord Jesus Christ is to believe his teachings and to obey his commandments. Jesus Christ says, obeying is the proof.

4. Belief for Healing: and, Belief for Salvation

Healings done by Jesus Christ are recorded in the Bible. Jesus asked many of them whether they believed that he was able to heal them. They believed and he healed them. "Matthew 9:27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it." The power of healing was given for a sign, but it was not for a propaganda or advertisement. Now a days, it is for advertisements for fame and money.

Here, blind men were healed. Does this mean that they were saved, because they believed on Jesus Christ to heal him? No! They were healed and not saved. "Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Preachers pull such verses together and preach cheap salvation, implying that it is for eternal life. It is deception or just ignorance. The jailers were saved from committing suicide. They were scared to death and were probably asking the apostles what to do be saved from such dangers in the future. At this point they know nothing about eternal life, how could they ask a thing that they do not even know? So, we must believe that Jesus Christ will give us eternal life, if we will do what he tells us to do for eternal life. If we believe that, we will do what he tells us to do. Then, we "may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."

5. What do we take away from this?

Salvation is eternal and it is spiritual. We must believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord, with proof of obedience, for our salvation. The knowledge and acceptance of the historical works of Jesus of Nazareth will not save anybody. The salvation of the soul cannot, and will not happen in an oath of promise, in a ceremony of acceptance, in leading a person through a prayer, or any such things. If we believe Jesus Christ, we will begin to obey him at least in the ceremonial things like water baptism, communion, etc. Then God will give us the spirit of life that is the holy spirit, who will lead us to walk in his ways. As we walk in his ways, God will lead us to eternal life. "Romans 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:" May God reward you with eternal life.
