Are you Saved truly by God's Grace?

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

I am a retired pastor of the Church of God (Tennessee).
My name is Isaac Livingston. I am from Neyyoor India.

God has removed a group of people from trespasses and sins to walk in righteousness and has made them to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. They seek the things where Jesus Christ sits, but not the things on earth. Their conversion from sins is referred as saved by grace.

What do you mean by Saved by Grace?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.

I like to share something about “saved by grace.” Every Christian is familiar with this slogan, saved by grace. They say that they are saved by grace. But most of them do not even know the meaning of saved by grace even after it is explained so clearly in the scriptures. If only they had known the meaning, there would not be so much confusion about who is saved and who is not saved. Most Christians think that saved by grace means that they are saved from eternal punishment from the lake of fire, in spite of the fact that they rightfully deserved to be punished since they still commit sin against God even at the present time. But saved by grace has nothing to do with a judicial judgment of acquittal at all. It refers to the conversion from sins of the lives of the people. Now, let us look at a few scripture verses.

Eph 2:1... you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: who were dead. They are not physically dead. But God calls them dead since they are in trespasses and sins. God quickened them that is brought them to life by pulled them out of trespasses and sins and seated them in heavenly places in Christ. Now they are living according to God. Notice the important point here: The verse refers them as “who were dead in trespasses and sins” means they are not in trespasses and sins anymore. .... Nobody can be .... in Darkness and in light at the same time. Either darkness or light .... mammon or God ..... dead or alive. In this verse, they were in sin, now they are not in sin. That is why they were dead, now they are living. Is this complicated? I don't think it is. Now let us look at verse 4.

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Look carefully. This terminology is different from John 3:16- we see two levels of love of God. In John 3:16 God so loved the whole world, that he gave his Son to die on the cross for them. But, it is up to the people to respond. But in Eph 2:1 and 4 God gave them life because of his great love and mercy towards the people who are responded. God raised these from death. In John 3:16 he loved the whole world, but he did not raise the whole world from death. Here, he raised this group of people from their sins, which is death, because they have responded to the love of God on the cross. These are saved by grace. Rest of the world is not.

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That is, God pulled them out of sin, placed them in Christ and in heavenly places, and says “by grace ye are saved;” Here it is not the second coming of Christ, neither it is the judgment of Christ. But the people were pulled out of sin and placed in heavenly places and in Christ and this is called saved by grace. That is, if they are still in sin they are neither in Christ nor they are saved. But most Christians say that they are in Christ, while they are still committing sin. But God answers them from his word. Let us read Col 3:1-2.

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. That is if you still love the things on earth, which he refers to sin, you are not in Christ. If you are in Christ, you will be heavenly minded. If you are not heavenly minded, you are not in Christ. Examine yourself, verify it and confirm it. Like we say, the proof is in the pudding.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Their past life of sin and transgression is changed. Now they are saved by grace.

God has given them the life of Jesus and made them to be one with Christ, and they have stopped walking the previous life of sin. This conversion from sins is referred as saved by grace. Those who are saved by grace, they will receive their reward in heaven. Those who are not saved from trespasses and sins, they are not saved by grace. They will be punished in the lake of fire. If you are saved by grace now, you will be glorified and rewarded at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. That will be marvelous.

By the way, I will upload another video about what is grace. Please listen to it also. I hope that will be a blessing to you.

Thank you and God bless you.
