We are Saved by Our Works, that is by Obeying God

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

Faith without works is dead. Saved by faith is saved by living faith, which is the faith that has works. We are saved by our faith indicates that we are saved by our works.

We are Saved by Our Works by Obeying God

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.

Most Christians are against salvation by works. They think that if they have to do any work at all for salvation, they do not want it. This is the attitude they have. Eph 2:9 says Not of works, lest any man should boast. It says that salvation is not by any kind of works that men could boast about. What are they? Circumcision, religious rituals, ceremonial laws, traditional teachings, and so on. Now a days they are, building big churches and congregations, international ministry, Great healing crusades, etc. These are the works boasted by men. So, nobody can be saved by such works. But, how about obeying and submitting in humbleness to God, which are never boasted, but ridiculed. Not only that, they are required for salvation. Eph 2:8 says by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Just because we see a phrase not of yourself, we should not run with it without looking at it. It is still, gift of God. Gifts are given to dear people like children or friends, but not to strangers, rebells or enemies. In order to receive gifts, you must become a child of God or at least his faithful servant.

Here, the gifts are grace and faith. We must be humble before God in order to receive grace according to James 4:6-8 and we must obey God in order to receive grace according to Rom 1:5. We must do the works of obedience in order to receive faith in God according to James 2:17-26. See, there are requirements to receive the gifts of grace and the gift of faith. Then, why does it say that it is not of ourselves. It is just because neither can we buy it, nor can we earn it. We can only receive it as gift. But, in order to receive the gifts of God, we must qualify. But false preachers preach that every sinning person can pick up a gift from God, which is a lie of Satan.

Further, we are the workmanship of God. That is, we are the master piece done by God. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Notice: if God has done a work in us, as the result of his work, we will walk in the path of righteousness towards perfection, which God has ordained for us to walk. But if we walk in sin instead, then it is evident that God has not done a work in us and so we are not saved.

There are two sides for salvation. God has quickened us and did a work in us. That is, he pulled us out of sins and made us walk in the path of righteousness. We also humbled before him and obeyed him.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? You will either obey Satan and commit sin unto death, or obey God and do righteousness.

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (see here, your obedience is directly connected to salvation) 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. (the word of God is very clear) 21 .... ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. If you are free from sin you are saved. Then, you will inherit eternal life.

Thank you. God bless you.
