"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."
I am a retired pastor of
the Church of God (Tennessee).
My name is Isaac Livingston. I am from Neyyoor India.
Jesus Christ is our High Priest, Mediator, Advocate, and Intercessor, while we are still living and striving to be godly. On the day of judgment, he will be the righteous and impartial judge, judging according to what we have done. It will be eternal life to the righteous and eternal punishment to the wicked.
Jesus Christ is our High Priest, Mediator, and Advocate to give us his grace and power as we needed, in accordance with the Father and the Holy Ghost. These are for our life and ministry, but not to help us on judgment day to do favor to us to take us to heaven.
High Priest was the head of all the priests in the temple of God, who gives sacrifices for the sins of all people. High Priest is the spiritual leader of authority of God's people. When the temple at Jerusalem was demolished, the position of the High Priest, who was in charge of sacrifices, was void. But, God made Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself for the sins of the world by the Holy Ghost, as the High Priest in heaven, to forgive the sins of his people. He is also the Mediator and the Advocate for his people. Our preachers very successfully convinced us that when God the Father is sitting on the judgment seat with the intension to sent us to hell, Jesus Christ will come between us and God the Father, as high priest, as mediator, as intercessor, as advocate, etc, and somehow will reverse the conviction to honorable acquittal with inheritance in heaven. If it happens, it will be fantastic. But, unfortunately it will not happen, because Jesus Christ will be the judge, but not God the Father. He will be the righteous judge, who will judge strictly judge according to what we have done in our life. "Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." So, we will be standing with all what we have done, before the righteous judge the Lord Jesus Christ. If we want him as our high priest, mediator, advocate, intercessor, and such, it will be while we are yet alive, but not before the judgment seat.
