Are Christians Carnal, Deceivers Or Disciples?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.

I have 3 questions: 1 are Christians carnal, 2 are they deceivers, 3 are they the disciples of Christ? Let us look one by one.

First. Are Christians carnal? Most Christians mind their own business and camouflage very well with the world. We may call them social Christians. They fit the churches real well by participating ceremonies, traditions, etc, but they have nothing to do with Christ. These are the majority of Christianity. And these are the first set of carnal Christians.

Then, some Christians are very aggressive professing themselves as Christians. But they also have the same lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. So, according to 1 John 2:16 they are not of God. They are the next set of carnal Christians.

Now, let us look at them through scriptures. Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. So, carnal Christians are sold under sin. Romans 8:6 ... to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then, they that are in the flesh cannot please God. That is carnal Christians give themselves to flesh and they will not obey God. So, their destiny is eternal death.

There is another set of carnal Christians. They are in 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 and they are babes in Christ. They have envying, strife and divisions. One says I am of Paul; and another says I am of Apollos. So, as they are in the process of salvation, they do silly things of carnality. But, their sins are not lustful or rebellious. God forbears them and He forgives them as they grow out of the carnality of babies and become adults. They have eternal life.

Second question. Are Christians deceivers? The very first deceiver was Satan. He deceived Eve purposely. So also most great evangelists, pastors, celebrities, etc, deceive people purposely. They do it for money, fame, and for such things. 2 Corinthians 11:13 such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. That is, they come as workers of God, but actually they are workers of Satan. God will destroy them in the end.

Now, Satan deceived Eve. who made Adam to sin? It is Eve. Her total ignorance was the reason. She thought that she was doing the right thing. And Adam ate the fruit like a fool. Such things happen all the time in churches. Many teach wrong doctrines to many. 1 Timothy 1:6 ... (they) have turned aside unto vain jangling; 7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. Matthew 15:14 Jesus Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. These kind of deceptions are happening a lot and they deceive with much enthusiasm, as Eve deceived her own husband.

Then, the third question. Are Christians disciples of Christ? If you are becoming a disciple, then and then only you are a true Christian, according to the Bible. Acts 11:26 .. it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians... Notice, just the disciples were called Christians, but not the whole assembly of the church. Today's Christians or the churches are not the body of Christ, they are just Christian organizations. But the disciples of Jesus Christ are his body, the true church.

But the calling of discipleship is too tough. Jesus Christ said in Luke 14:26 unless a man hate his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, and his own self, he cannot be his disciple. This is the start. As the discipleship went on, it got tougher. John 6:60-61 says that many of his disciples were offended by his teachings. Verse 66 says From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. Notice what Peter has said. Lord, to whom shall we go? There is nobody else. Thou hast the words of eternal life. Nobody else has it. Only those, who had the eternal life in mind, stayed with Jesus and all the rest left him. It is very tough to be a true Christian, who is a disciple to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let me sum it up. Almost 90% of Christians are carnal. 9% are aggressive, but they are like Satan or like Eve, deceiving Christians. That is, a total of 99% Christians are false. It left just 1%. They are the disciples of Jesus Christ. But among the 1% of disciples, 90% fell back. It left just 0.1%. That is, one true Christian out of one thousand Christians. Are you that one Christian among one thousand? If you are, God will tremendously bless you and he will be with you always. If you are not, will you become one? You will be a pearl of great price to God, while the other 999 Christians are deceiving themselves. On that day you will shine with Christ as in 1 John 3:2 which says that when he shall appear, we shall be like him.
