It is Finished - Means

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

"John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." Preachers give fantastic sermons on this verse saying that Jesus Christ has finished so many things, one of them being our salvation. So, according to them, we do not have to do anything for our salvation, including the things that Jesus Christ told us to do for our salvation. Here we see that the devil negates what all God says, just by this quote of Jesus Christ: "it is finished." Almost all preachers endorse the statement of the devil and preach it on the pulpits. It is shame. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we will die to the deeds of the body to live a holy life and to inherit the kingdom of God as joint heirs to Lord Jesus Christ. "1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:" Jesus Christ took our sins to his cross so that we may not sin anymore. "1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God." Jesus went to the cross so that we may not sin. But preachers preach just the opposite. But, if we are for Jesus Christ, Galatians 5 says, "24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." Jesus has completed his work as a Man and he called it as "it is finished." By that he has become the author of eternal salvation, and he will give the salvation only to those who will obey him. "Hebrews 5:9 ... he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" So, obey him for your eternal salvation. His death on the cross demands us to "being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:".
