Today we study what sin is, what gospel is and what grace is from the Bible. We will also study what some preachers say about these. In this study, I will quote John MacArthur & John Piper. I just ran into their clips. I quote them only as examples for false preaching, but for nothing else. There are so many such false preaching. Now, let us go to the scriptures and study what they say.

What is sin?

We can group sins in 3 main categories a/c to the Bible. (1). 1 John 3:4 says sin is the transgression of the law. In the NT, the law refers to the commandments of Jesus Christ, since they are the only law to Christians. So, disobeying the commandments of Jesus Christ is sin. 1 John 5:17 says all unrighteousness is sin: Deuteronomy 6:25 says, if we obey God, it is our righteousness. So, if we do not obey God, it is unrighteousness and so, again, disobeying God is sin. (2) James 4:17 to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. So, when God has given an opportunity to do a good work and if we do not do it, that is sin. (3) Rom 14:23 says, whatsoever is not of faith is sin. We must do things a/c our faith in God through the hope that he has given. But, if we do by presumption, it is sin. Every sin that people commit falls under one of these 3 categories namely disobeying God, not doing good works, & not having faith in God.

What is Grace?

Exodus 33:12 Moses said unto the LORD, thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, That is, if Moses has grace, God will show Moses the way to know God intimately. 16 I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? Exodus 34:9 he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, I pray thee, go among us; So, grace is the presence of God that goes with a person. Genesis 6:8 Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9 Noah walked with God. So, grace made Noah to walk with God. From these verses, we see that if we have grace, God will show us the way for us to know God intimately, and the manifest presence of God will go with us always, as Jesus has said it in Matthew 28:20.

But, how to receive this grace?

1 Peter 5:5 be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. James 4:6 God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil. Proverb 3:34 he giveth grace unto the lowly. So, if we humble ourselves to God and resist the devil, God will give his grace. But, as God gives grace, he teaches us something and we will obey them. Titus 2:11 grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Further grace is not an object. If we receive grace, we will be receiving the very presence of Jesus Christ and he will rule over us. Rom 5:17 they who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ. 21 as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. See here, Satan rules over sinning people and they will have eternal death. So, either Satan rules over you by sin or Jesus Christ rules over you by grace. But, they preach as if grace is forgiveness of sins and a ticket to heaven. No, grace is Jesus Christ himself, who will reign over us, by giving the gift of righteousness, for us to have eternal life. So, if you humble yourself and submit to God, by his grace Jesus Christ will guide you and reign your life. Then you will deny ungodliness, worldly lusts, and live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. If you do not live this way, you do not have the grace of God. Again, if you do not live this way, and still claim that you have grace, you have just learned to bluff from your preachers. Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are under grace. That is, if you are under grace, you will not be under sin. Hebrews 12:28 let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: So, grace will help you to serve God with reverence and godly fear. If you serve God by pleasing men, you have no grace. Apostle Paul said in Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: How? Verse 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. So, grace is, that Jesus Christ gives himself to us and lives our life. Do you have this grace, or a favor to go heaven through a back door?

John MacArthur twists Scripture

MacArthur said, “Grace means unmerited favor. It isn't we earned it. It isn't we deserved it. It isn't because we achieved it.” This is not the grace of Jesus Christ. So, he himself does not have grace. Yet, his ministry name is, Grace to you. He seems to give grace to everybody. Jesus Christ says about such people in Matthew 15:14 they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. MacArthur began by saying that grace means unmerited favor. Lot of people say that. God does not favor any-one without merit since God is not respecter of persons, as in Acts 10:34, Romans 2:11, Ephesians 6:9, Colossians 3:25, James 2:9, 1 Peter 1:17, etc. Then he said, It isn't we earned it. It isn't we deserved it. It isn't because we achieved it. No, we have earned it as children earn allowances from their parents, we deserved it since we give ourselves to Jesus Christ to rule us with righteousness, we achieved it by repenting, humbling and striving before our Lord Jesus Christ.

Then John MacArthur said that Galatians 3:10 says none of us can keep the law, by that he meant none of us can keep the commandments of Jesus Christ. But, the verse did not say that. The verse says, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law. That is, the verse actually says that if you don't obey God, you are cursed. He twisted this verse and said none of us can keep the law. The only laws or commandments for Christians to keep is the commandments of Jesus Christ a/c to the Bible. We must obey them to inherit his kingdom and Grace helps us to obey them.

What is the gospel?

Jesus Christ is the only one who was anointed to preach the gospel according to Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18 &21. He preached the gospel when he was living as a man according to Matthew 4:23, 9:35, 11:5, Mark 1:14 Luke 4:18, 7:22, & 20:1. So, his gospel does not include his death and his resurrection. He sent his disciples to preach the gospel and they have preached the gospel according to Luke 9:1 & 6. They preached the gospel. So, if we preach the gospel, we must preach the gospel they have preached. The Bible says, we must also preach Jesus Christ. That is, God the Word became a man, he lived sinless life, did miracles, obeyed God the Father until death, died on the cross as the Lamb of God, resurrected & ascended as Lord & God and he will be the righteous judge to all. Just believing this will take nobody to heaven. But, Jesus Christ has preached what we must do to inherit his kingdom. That is the good news and the gospel. We must believe him, that is, we must believe what he told us to do in order to inherit the kingdom of God and we must obey them. If we do, we will inherit his kingdom. Jesus came to his disciples after his resurrection and told them to teach all nations whatsoever he has commanded them to do, as the gospel so that they may also do them and inherit the kingdom of heaven according to Luke 24:47, Matthew 28:18-20, and Mark 16:15&16. Gospel is not just to believe what Jesus Christ has done, but to believe what Jesus Christ told us to do to inherit his kingdom. Now let us see what John Piper say what the gospel is.

How does John Piper twist the Gospel?

In a program called desiring God, John Piper explains “the gospel in 6 minutes.” There he says “Gospel is the news that Jesus Christ the righteous one died for our sins, rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is no condemnation for those who believe but have only everlasting joy.” No, just by believing what Jesus Christ has accomplished, nobody will escape condemnation or receive eternal life. But they have to believe what Jesus Christ has told them to do and do them. John Piper and so many others have twisted the scriptures the same way, may be on purpose. But, Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. It is for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. They will not be condemned. He further says, forgiveness of sins and the right standing of God comes freely through him alone by faith alone. The whole thing is lie. Forgiveness is not free. We must repent, do restitution to the one whom we have offended, & we must forgive others. These are the conditions for forgiveness of our past sins only. What is the right standing of God? It is false vocabulary, which they have invented to deceive people. There is no such a thing in the Bible. He says through him alone. What is it? If you do not do what God tells you to do through him alone will come condemnation only. Then he says faith alone. Faith cannot be alone. Faith alone is dead without works. These preachers are just professionals, who make their living by preaching. They just want to please people and they are not sent by God. Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Let them not deceive you. Obey Jesus Christ, that is, do what Jesus Christ told you to do, in order to inherit the kingdom of God. This is the gospel.

We have studied from the Bible, what is sin, what is grace, and what is the gospel. We also studied how false preachers twist the word of God to teach their own doctrine. Let us reject them and obey Jesus Christ. Then we will inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.

What is the true gospel and what are false gospels?

Matthew 28:20, & Mark 16:15. Jesus Christ preached his commandments to obey, as his Gospel; it is the true Gospel to inherit Eternal life. Genesis 3:1-4 & 2 Corinth 11:2-4. But Preachers, who are Serpents of Satan, preach the life of man Jesus just to believe, but not to live as a chaste virgin, as the gospel; it is another gospel, which cannot and will not give Eternal life.

What will the true Gospel do?

The true gospel will convert evil people to do good and thereby they will inherit the kingdom in heaven. John 3:19-21 say that people are two kinds, evil and true. Evil doers will not come to the Light, who is God; but people of truth come to God for their deeds to be made manifest. We have good and evil people by our standard of our society or culture. These evil people may be converted to be doers of truth by the power of God, and they may inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.
