"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

Christians talk about faith often. But, hope is the forerunner to faith. Faith cannot not exist without hope. "Hebrews 11:1.. faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." First, hope is the substance for faith. Hope is the foundation for faith, without hope, faith cannot stand. Hope is the evidence for faith. Nobody can prove faith without hope. So, hope is the root for faith.
So, what is hope? The hope of a believer is that they will see Jesus Christ on his second coming. "Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" The substance of hope is that they will purify themselves as he was pure. What is the object of the hope of a Christian? "1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." What is the work that he must do to obtain it? "1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." Christians, as children of God, hope to be glorified like Jesus Christ and to see him at his second coming. Those who have this hope purify themselves as Jesus Christ is pure. So, if you see someone who is purifying his/her life as the life of Jesus Christ, that person has the hope of meeting Jesus Christ at his coming. All the rest of us do not have the hope, but have learned to repeat a slogan.
1 Peter 1:21 we by Jesus do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Hebrews 11:6... without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. So, our hope must be in God. He is real and he is the rewarder if we seek him diligently.
God Bless You
