"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."
I am a retired pastor of
the Church of God (Tennessee).
My name is Isaac Livingston. I am from Neyyoor India.
Lord Jesus Christ tells in Luke 6:46, "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" The meaning of 'Lord' is 'Master'. If we call some one (in the Bible) as Lord, we accept that the other person is our 'Master'. People were calling Jesus Christ as 'Master' but they will not do what he tells them to do. Even Christians of the present day, are no different from them. They sing praise songs in church, but they will not do the things that Jesus Christ is telling them to do through scriptures, for their salvation. So, Jesus Christ told them as well as to present day Christians, "why do you call me Lord, Lord, but do not do what I say?" It is a serious concern for Jesus Christ, but it is the life and death matter for us. Jesus Christ being the righteous judge, who will judge with no respecter of persons, will judge accordingly. It is good to call him Lord, but if we do not obey him, it will not do any good. But we will be the objects of the wrath of God on that day. I have few lessons and videos on the subject and here are the links: "Calls Him Lord", "Obey and Saved", "By Works video."
God Bless You
