Jesus Loves

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

I am a retired pastor of the Church of God (Tennessee).

"Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so" is the famous kids-song. Not only kids, but adults also sing with kids and believe the song. So, we know that Jesus loves us. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son," Preachers say that the begotten son is crucified on the cross, so Jesus loves you. So the love of Jesus is tremendous and we got it made since God is on our side. Then we build our dreams from this platform that Jesus loves us. Let us verify this platform of the love of Jesus for a minute. John 15:9 says, "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you:" It is another reinforcement of the love of Jesus. Then he tells us "continue ye in my love." So, it is the responsibility of us to continue in his love. So, it is not unconditional love as the preachers say. Then Jesus Christ says in the next verse: "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love." If we desire the love of Jesus, we must keep his commandments. It is the statement of Jesus Christ. But our preachers totally deny this. Preachers are liars and Jesus Christ tells the truth. Preachers may even quote the following verse. Jesus Christ says in verse 13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." They say that Jesus loves us so much that even he laid down his life for us. That is what they say, but look at the verse. He laid his life down for his friends only, not for everyone. But, who are his friends? Verse 14 says, "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." If you do whatever he has commanded, then you are his disciple and then Jesus loves you. If you do not obey his commandments and believe that Jesus loves you, you are deceiving yourself or preachers are deceiving you. Unconditional love is not of God. It is deception of preachers and of the devil.

God Bless You
