"John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he... 28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, ... 30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.... 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.... 42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world."

The Woman meets Messiah and Christ

The woman just called Jesus as a prophet. John 4: "25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things." She considers that Messiah, who is Christ, knows it all, he will tell us everything. "26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he." Jesus told her that he is Messiah and Christ. Let us see what the Bible says about Messiah and Christ. Both are same with different mission. Christ is for the world and Messiah is for the Jews. Messiah came to his own, but they killed him. "Daniel 9:26 says ... Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;" So, God sent Romans and they broke the temple and destroyed Jerusalem. As the great tribulation comes, according to Zechariah 12, Jews will realize that they did cut off the Messiah, repent and lament for him, and call upon him to save them. Then Jesus will come as Messiah, destroy Babylon, and rule the Jews for thousand years, which Millennium. That is Messiah. How about Christ? Theologians say that Christ means "the anointed." If so, if you are anointed, you will be Christ. No! We see the phrase in the Bible repeatedly that "Christ, the Son of God." So, Christ is the Son of God. God declared the resurrected Jesus as his begotten Son, and this Son is Christ. "Acts 2:36 says, .. let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ." So, Jesus was made Christ after his resurrection. He is our Lord and God. He has come to this world again, soon after his resurrection according to Acts 3:26. It says, "26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities." So now, Jesus Christ is in this world, turning away people from their sins and iniquities. This is Christ. Unfortunately most Christians do not know that.

The Woman on the Mission

"27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?" It may not be proper or modest that a man talked to a woman alone, in that culture at that time. But, the disciples could not confront the master. "28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men," The woman brought the water pot to fetch water to her house. But, she left the water pot there, means that she was not going home. She was heading to the city Samaria. Jacob's well was in Sychar, a suburb or a village of the city. She was determined to tell about Jesus to as many people as she can; so she was on a mission and going to the city. "29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? 30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him." People came out of the city of Samaria, to the well at Sychar to see the man. She could have compelled them to come and see. She brought almost the whole city to the well, especially at the dinner time. It was a great accomplishment.

Jesus was doing the Will of the Father

"31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. 32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. 33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." Jesus was so dedicated to do the will of the Father, even to give his life on the cross. What is this to him, just to skip a meal. Jesus was so excited, and his disciples were surprised.

Every Person receives reward for what they have done

Jesus was explaining to his disciples, about how true workers of God perceive their work. I am not talking about the salaried, easy money preachers, Christian executives, or that sort of people. I am referring to poor true men that serve God sincerely. Most of the time, they are disappointed, not sure of the prospects of their work, and face so many uncertainties. To such workers, this could be the answer. "35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. 38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours." Know that, it is God sending you to work. Even though, we are irrelevant in saving souls, because only God can save souls, we will not be ignored and we will receive our wages in heaven from God. Those big preachers, who have large audience, advertise saying that they save thousands of souls. That is all fake. They saved big money, but not souls. God is the only one, who can save souls, and we are irrelevant. God never said that we will receive rewards according to how many souls we have saved. We cannot save any. But, we all will receive rewards for what we do.

People don't give credit to True Missionary

Let us look at a few points about the woman in Samaria. She came to the well on the mid-day, at the lunch time, when nobody comes out, but will be eating at home. Probably, she don't want to face other women. She was irritable, confronting, when a man asked for water to drink, she picked up an argument. Even though, she considered the man as a prophet, still she fought him. She was a mean person. Even her name is not in the Bible. Yet, She was a great person inside her heart. She knew about Godly things to the extend of what all she could know. About the tradition of Father Jacob, about his family and the well, about the worship in the mountain and in Jerusalem, and about Messiah and Christ. At the minute she thought that this person could be the Messiah and Christ, she left the water pot, went into the city where the people are, at the heat of the day, knocking house to house, stirred up everybody, and brought them to meet this man. She was such a great lady inside, having a rough outside. She was one of the great missionaries in the Bible. Yet she had five plus one husbands, and the present one she was not married to. How in the world it could be possible? I don't know the answer, but God knows. That is why Jesus came to her alone and asked her water. "39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. 40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his own word; 42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world." They heard Jesus Christ and believed on him. It is so great. However, I don't know whether to weep are to rejoice at this story. I am so happy that Samaria heard Jesus, and was converted. But, they don't have to tell the woman that it is not because of her. Of course, she could not save anybody, she is irrelevant in their salvation. But, she is the one, who brought them to him. They must be grateful to her. "43 Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee." We will see him in Galilee on next session. Samaritans, who were Assyrians, opened their heart and home to Jesus Christ. There was a great woman in Samaria, hiding herself under a rough skin. But, Israel, supposedly God's own people, where are they now? How about you and me. Where are we? We are Christians. Who is Christ to us?

What is the true gospel and what are false gospels?

Matthew 28:20, & Mark 16:15. Jesus Christ preached his commandments to obey, as his Gospel; it is the true Gospel to inherit Eternal life. Genesis 3:1-4 & 2 Corinth 11:2-4. But Preachers, who are Serpents of Satan, preach the life of man Jesus just to believe, but not to live as a chaste virgin, as the gospel; it is another gospel, which cannot and will not give Eternal life.

What will the true Gospel do?

The true gospel will convert evil people to do good and thereby they will inherit the kingdom in heaven. John 3:19-21 say that people are two kinds, evil and true. Evil doers will not come to the Light, who is God; but people of truth come to God for their deeds to be made manifest. We have good and evil people by our standard of our society or culture. These evil people may be converted to be doers of truth by the power of God, and they may inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.
