"John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."

Light has no darkness is Jesus Christ and God

Our study portion is John 8:12-30. Let us begin with verse "12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." This is a very important verse in the whole bible. Jesus Christ says that he is "the light" of the world. So, he is the only light, for the whole world. "1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." Now we see that God and Jesus Christ, both are 'the light' and this light do not have darkness; that is, this light will not merge with darkness. This is also a special kind of light. If we take a lamp with very high intensity in the darkest place, and light it up. Say, a piece of cloth within 10 feet will catch fire, if it moves to 20 feet it will not catch fire, if we move it to 100 feet the intensity of the light may be about 100 watt light, move 500 feet, the power may be about 40 watt light, and move it to 1000 feet, it will be like a night light. Why is that? The very powerful light, as it contacts darkness, it will gradually diffuse and merge into the darkness and so it losses its power. This is the nature of lights that we see. But God and Jesus Christ are the true light, that is of a different kind, that neither merge with darkness nor loses its power. We have sun, moon, and stars for lighting the world. They illuminate the world every day, further we have made lights, like electrical lamps, and we see them and use them all day. But we never have seen Jesus Christ or God as light. Why? Because, only the children of light can see this light. Is there any other light, that is similar to this light? Let us see.

Spirit light is for soul; other lights are for us.

God is three persons. God the Father created all things by Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost helped Jesus Christ in creation. So, Jesus Christ is the main person in creation. "Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness." Verse 5 says that, this was on the first day. So, on the very first day of creation, God told Jesus to create light, and Jesus Christ has created light. Further, God has divided this light from darkness. So, this light also will not merge with darkness, as the light of God. The difference is this; If God is light with the power of the sun, then the created light has the power of a candle. It has very low intensity, but the nature is same. Please notice; this light is not intended to help our vision, that is to see things. God has created this light for different purpose. Then again, God told Jesus to create visual lights to give light to the world. So, Jesus Christ has created sun, moon, and stars. "14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also... 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day." So, these lights are illumination to the world. So, God has created two kinds of lights, one is illumination light for our eyes to see. So, we see this light. Then, what was the light that he has created on the first day? It was also created in the likeness of his own light, which has no darkness. So, the first day light is similar to the light of Jesus Christ and of God, but with less intensity.

The light, breath of life makes us living souls

Again verse 12, "he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." We agree that if he walk in the front and we follow him, we will be walking in his light. Then again, he says that we will 'have' the light, that is, we will receive this light, and we will become the light. Then he says that this light is 'life'. We already are living persons. So, this life indicates the heavenly life and it is the life in the spirit. "John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." Light of men is the light that was created on the first day. This light is kept in Jesus Christ. He is the custodian of this light. It will be the light for our life. So, Jesus Christ will give this light to us. As we receive the light, we will be like babies in him, with the potential to grow like him. This light is called life, the breath of God, the spirit, the spirit of man, the holy spirit, and in general as the spirit of God. If you like to study about this light in detail; please refer to this link; "the holy spirit." This is the light that Jesus Christ will light in us, or it is the spirit that he will give to us. "John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." And Jesus Christ says in "Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" God calls it as the 'spirit of man' since it is for man, and it is called the 'holy spirit' since it is holy and leads us to God.

The light of life will manifest godly deeds in us

As we receive this light, and when we shine this light in the world, the world will not understand us, because the world is in darkness. John 1:9 says that Jesus Christ will light us and John 8:12 says, that we shall have the light of life. But the evil people, who love darkness, will not come to him to receive this light. "John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." It is very important to know that there are people, even in churches who do not want this light, which is the truth, life, and godliness; but they embrace religion, and darkness. Religion is ceremonial without truth; and they will not come to the person Jesus; but they participate in church activities and programs. Remember, those religious Jews, who were the enemies of Jesus, called themselves as children of God! When we talk about the holy spirit experience with church people, it will become a very sensitive subject. How to differentiate the true light from fake light; or, what is the difference between godliness and religiosity? God says that the true light will not diffuse or merge with darkness, but it will stay pure. Jesus Christ says in Matthew 6; "23 ... If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." So, we cannot serve God and mammon, but only one; either God or mammon, cannot be both. Mammon is things in the world. (Now I am adding this to the transcript: Missed out on the video; Sorry: The resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, who is God, and who is in the omnipotent Spirit, is the true Light. The mammon is the creation of the religion, which is of the world. It is the ideology idol of the dead "Man Jesus" raised and venerated to the status of God. They could find a man in him to relate with him as one of them, and at the same time call him God to satisfy the need to worship a God. The Bible refers him as another Jesus and false Christ. The true Jesus Christ is not the replica of flesh, but he is the very Soul of Jesus entered the Omnipotent Spirit, who is God, the begotten Son, who is God the Son, and who is now in the world us, turning people away from sinning, who will reprove the deeds of evil according to John 3:19-20. If you are of truth, you will come to him, who is the true light, as in verse 21.) Satan is behind mammon, give the things of the world; but God gives eternal rewards in his kingdom. If we desire both equally, our spirit, that is light, is fake. "33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." If we seek the kingdom of God, he will provide the other also. Resurrected Jesus Christ is the true light.

Jesus was teaching, God the Father was his witness.

"20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come." So, verses 13-20 and even further, Jesus was teaching the word of God in the temple, which was his prime work. The religious Pharisees and priests poured their animosity against Jesus into unending squabble, like our politicians. In the midst of it, Jesus has made a few points, not only as teaching to the Jews, but also, they are teaching to us. He says that the record that Jesus gives about himself and about God the Father are true. He told the Jews that they are ignorant of the things in heaven, they don't even know that he came from heaven, even though these things are written in scriptures. His statements will fit very well even with our bible teachers. Jewish scribes and Pharisees were spiritually blind, but very religious. But God the Father stands with Jesus as his witness. The Jews did not even know who God the Father was. They could not kill him at that time, since it was not the time of God. But they tried their best.

Jesus always pleased God the Father even on cross

"21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. 28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. 30 As he spake these words, many believed on him." Jesus was talking about his death, and ascension to heaven, but they did not understand. He said that he will come back to judge the world and they all will die in their sins, which means that they will stand before him to be condemned. Jesus told them that these were the words of God the Father. But they had no clue. He told them that they will lift the Son of man, means that they will crucify him, and yet God the Father will always be with him, even by his cross. Jesus had always spoke the word of God, even though it did cost his life. God the Father will always be with him because Jesus pleased him always. In a way, he tells us that if we please God, he will be with us also. At that time many common Jews believed on him. Yet, those religious Jews were always against him. The hierarchy in religion will always be bitter enemies to God and be with the devil. Are you religious or, are you godly? If you are godly, then praise be to God. But, if you are religious, then please be converted, become godly, and let God be pleased by your life. Then, God will please you and give you the true light.

Take away Points

1, Jesus Christ is our Lord God and he is the light of the World. He is not illumination light as sun and moon, but he is the life-giving light that is the Spirit. 2, He has created light on the very first day. This light is life to the soul, and it is the holy spirit. 3, The Jews that are scribes and Pharisees, who were religious, hated Jesus, who came from heaven. 4, Religious Jews did have no knowledge of God and of heaven, but they claim that they are the chosen of God. 5, Jesus was teaching the word of God as the Father taught him, he pleased the Father all the time, and so, God the Father was with him all the time. If we do the same, God the Father and Jesus Christ will be with us all the time. So, please God always.

Looking for the true gospel? This site has the true gospel!

What is the true gospel and what are false gospels?

Matthew 28:20, & Mark 16:15. Jesus Christ preached his commandments to obey, as his Gospel; it is the true Gospel to inherit Eternal life. Genesis 3:1-4 & 2 Corinth 11:2-4. But Preachers, who are Serpents of Satan, preach the life of man Jesus just to believe, but not to live as a chaste virgin, as the gospel; it is another gospel, which cannot and will not give Eternal life.

What will the true Gospel do?

The true gospel will convert evil people to do good and thereby they will inherit the kingdom in heaven. John 3:19-21 say that people are two kinds, evil and true. Evil doers will not come to the Light, who is God; but people of truth come to God for their deeds to be made manifest. We have good and evil people by our standard of our society or culture. These evil people may be converted to be doers of truth by the power of God, and they may inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.
