"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

I am a retired pastor of the Church of God (Tennessee).
My name is Isaac Livingston. I am from Neyyoor India.

God is three Souls in one Spirit. It is almost like Trinity, but it is not trinity doctrine. God is one God. God is the creator, and nobody else can create anything. God created man in the image of his Soul. First day creation is the light of the life of man. It is the spirit of man, even the holy spirit.

Bible Study #1, John 1:1 to 4. God is One Spirit, three Souls, the Creator.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.

Today we begin a Bible study of the gospel a/c to apostle John. We will study it word by word, verse by verse, in detail with many references. I will never twist scriptures since I have no pet denominations or pet doctrines. I embrace the doctrine of Jesus Christ as my doctrine. It is also called, the apostle's doctrine, in the Bible. All other doctrines are made by men, for distraction. Please don't study any doctrine. Study the word of God, the Bible. I like to say something before I start. The book of John is very easy to read, but it is very hard if we study in detail. So, you have to put up with me for the first few chapters. But you will study lot more from John than any other book from the Bible. Now, let us begin our study.

John the gospel 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. It begins with 'in the beginning.' Gen 1:1 says In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. It was the beginning of the creation of God. In John the beginning was, before the creation. It is not the study of the beginning of God, but we study how God has existed already in the beginning.

Now, the verse says that in the beginning was the Word. That is, a person, who is called 'the Word' existed in the beginning. I am a person and you are a person because we have souls that are eternal. Animals, birds fishes, etc do not have souls and so they are not persons. Since 'the Word' is a person, he is or has a soul that is eternal.

Vs 1 continues to say the Word was with God. So, God also existed in the beginning. But who is God? In Matt 12:18, God says, in whom my soul is well pleased: So, God has a soul. Heb 10:38, Jere 5:9&29 also say that God has a soul. So, God is also a person. John 4:24 says God is a Spirit: That is, God is one of the Spirits.

Rev 19:6 says the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. So, God is omnipotent. Job 42:2, Psalm 147:5 also say that God can do anything. There is nothing that is impossible to God. Science says that nobody can create even an atom. But God has created the entire universe and all things in it, including the living beings from insects to big whales, including the intelligent human beings. So, it is proof that nothing is impossible to God and so he is omnipotent.

Psalm 139:4 says there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. That is, even before a word is formed in us, or in our tongue or mind, God knows it. There are billions of people live in this world. The Bible says that God will judge everyone of us a/c to what we have done. So, not only God knows what we are doing, God records everything for his judgment. Job 34:21&22 & 26:6 also say the samething. So, God is omniscient. That is, he knows everything.

Psalm 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. So God is everywhere. He fills the entire universe by self. If there is a space, God fills there and he fills the space. So, God is omnipresent.

So far, we see that God has a soul, and so God is a person. Our soul is kept in our flesh, which is our body. So also, the soul of God is in his Spirit, which is his body. His Spirit, that is, his body is omnipotent, omniscient, & omnipresent.

We must know one more very important truth about God. He is one of his kind and there is no other God beside him. Deut 4:35 says the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him. Deut 6:4 says, Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 1 King 8:60, Mark 12:32, & 1 Cor 8:4, all say the same thing. So, there is only one God and vs one (John 1:1) says 'the Word' was with this God.

Let us continue vs 1: the Word was God. Just now, I explained scriptures to show that there is only one God and there is no other God. Now, the verse says the Word is God and he is with God, which makes it two. It is a contradiction. But the Bible has no contradictions. If there is a contradiction, it must be our lack of understanding the word of God. So, let us find out. I am a man and whatever in my body is part of me or part of man. My soul is also a man, since it is in me. God has a soul and his soul must also be God since it is part of God. 'The Word' is a soul and this soul is with the soul of God. Both souls are together in one Spirit God, that is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. It is unique to have two souls in one body. Yet, the word of God says that. So, it must be true. Both souls are God, since both are in the Spirit, which is the body of God. So, if we look at the Spirit, God is one God. If we look at the souls, God is 2 persons, or 2 Gods in 1 God.

Vs 2 The same was in the beginning with God. What was the same? The same was, two souls in one omni-power Spirit and he is the only God. Now, this same is with God. Notice, the verse did not say, the same was God, but it says the same was with God, that is, there is a third God. Now we know, that there cannot be a third God, but there can be a third soul in God, which can be the third person in God, who will be considered as God since he is in the Spirit body of God. So, a third soul is with the other 2 souls, in the Spirit of God. So, God is three souls in one omni-power Spirit.

The name of one soul is 'the Word.' What are the names of the other two souls? Matt 3:16 Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and,lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: This is baptism scripture. But, our purpose is to find the names of the persons of God. The Spirit of God descending like a dove. So, the name of one of the persons in God is the Spirit of God. Vs17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. The next person's voice is heard from heaven. He says this is my beloved Son. So, he is the father. So, the two persons are, the Spirit of God and God the father. If we look at Vs 11, he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: we see that the name of the Spirit of God is Holy Ghost. In Mark 5:7 the middle of the vs says, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God. So the name of God the Father is the most high God. 1 Cor 11:3 also says the head of Christ is God. So the name of God the Father is the most high God. We know that God the Word became the man Jesus and now he is the Lord Jesus Christ. So, the names of the three persons in God in the OT are, the most high God, the Spirit of God, and the Word. Their names in the NT are God the Father, the Holy Ghost & the Lord Jesus Christ. So, the true God is three souls in one omni-power Spirit.

Verse 3. (John 1:3). All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Science proves that we cannot create even an atom and God created all things. Let us see how he created them. Gen 1:1 Read In the beginning God created the heaven & the earth. Here, God is singular, and so, it refers to the Spirit, that has 3 persons. So, creation is the work of three persons. Vs 2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. So, the Spirit of God was involved in creation. Vs 3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Here, we see that one God said to create the light & the other God created the light. If we continue to read, we will see that one God keep saying to create on vss 3, 4, 6, 9, 14, 20 &24. Another God created them on vss 3, 4, 7, 10, 16, 21 &24. Since, God the Father is above the others, we may say that he said to create and Jesus Christ was creating them. Let us verify it. Turn to Eph 3:9. At the end of the vs it says, God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: So, God the Father was telling what to do and how to do it, Jesus Christ was creating them, and the Holy Ghost was helping them. So, creation was the work of all 3 persons, even though God has done it by Jesus Christ.

When I was studying the truth that God is three Souls in one Spirit, God has given me an example for me to understand it easily. Let me share it with you. You will also understand it. When I am doing a work, others see my body doing the work. But they do not see my brain & nerves instructing my muscles to do the job and my heart & blood vessels gives power that is needed. If my nerves at the spine or my arteries at the heart is cut off, I could not have done anything. So, my brain, muscles & heart are, as one body completed the work. So also, God the Father instructs as brain, Holy Ghost gives the power as heart & Jesus Christ does the work as muscles. The three persons are intertwined as one, and are doing the work as one Spirit. This is not the trinity doctrine. But, this is what the Bible says. Further, God still creates even now. Let us see. Col 1:16 Read. Vs 13 - 15 identify Jesus Christ. Vs 16 says, by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, So, all things in heaven and earth is created by him. visible and invisible, the invisible things are not created in six days in Genesis. So, those were created after the six day creation. whether they be thrones, or dominions, they are governments, prime-ministers, presidents, dictators, mayors, governors, even these positions are included in the creation of God. These are not in the six days creation. or principalities, or powers: that are the angels, devils and the demon powers etc, all things were created by him, and for him: Christians usually do not realize that the creation and all things are for him. We love to think that all things are for us. It is more clear in Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. So, the Lord Jesus Christ created all things, and it is for his pleasure. They were and are created. 'were' refers to six day creation and olden times. 'are created' refers to present times. So, creation continues even now. After the six days creation, we saw them in plagues of Egypt and at the wilderness when Israel did not obey God and when they needed food and water, etc. Even now we see them in tsunamis, earth quakes, volcanoes, tornados, floods, etc and in bacterias, viruses & so on. So, God still creates. He creates all things and nobody else can create anything. But, when tragedy like tsunami hits, we have a tendency to blame the devil to bail out God. We should not do that. God does not need a bail out. We must preach the truth. It is God who has done it. Nobody else can do it. In the OT, book of Job, Satan has done some destruction and God allowed them. But after Rev 12:7-10, that refers to the point of the resurrection jesus Christ, when he went to heaven, at that time satan was cast out and lost access to the heavenly. So, for the last 2000 years Satan do not get the permission from God and he cannot do any of them. So, don't give glory to Satan. If we do not know why God is doing it, and why he has done it, fall before God and ask him what should we do. God is doing all things for him and for his pleasure, but not for our pleasure. It is a hard reality, but it is the truth. But, God rewards us, if we obey him.

Let us go to John. John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. It is not his life, it is our life that is in him. In 1 Cor 2:11, it is referred as spirit of man. Jesus Christ has this light and vs 9 says that he lights us if we come to him, that is if we follow him. What is this light? Gen 1:3 God said, Let there be light: and there was light. See God has created a light here. This is not the illumination of the lights of the world. It is not the physical light. Vss 14-17 describes about the creation of the sun, moon and stars, which are the lights for the world. But the light on vs 3, was not physical visible light, but was spirit light, which was the light of men. This light is a part of men that gives life to men. On the sixth day God created man and woman. Vs 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: God said let us, that is, the souls of God were talking to each other to make man in their image. Their image is the soul. So, man was made as a soul, but not in the image of God's Spirit. And God has no dust or flesh and blood in his body. So, our physical body of flesh and blood, which came from dust is not the image of God. It is important to know that we are the image of the soul of God. Vs 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. God created our soul and he created the body, that are male and female, from the dust of the earth. God gave the body as a house or as a tabernacle for the soul to live a/c to 2 Cor 5:1&4, 2 Peter 1:13&14. So, the real we are our souls and our body is our house and we live in it. Lev 17:11 says the life of the flesh is in the blood: So, our body lives as long as our blood circulates and we live as man or woman. Gen 2:7 the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. God gave the breath of life to living man and he became a living soul. When God made man from the dust, it is flesh and blood and since the life is in the blood, the man lives and he was already a living man. The breath of life is the light of life or the spirit of life was breathed into h the living man. The first day creation is added to the sixth day creation and man became a living soul. This is born again. God says we must be born again, that is, we must receive the light of man and must become a living soul. God refers men as dead until we are born again even though our bodies live. Jesus Christ will give life to those who will come to him. Eph 5:14 Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. John 1:9, Matt 8:22, Luke 15:32, Eph 2:1&5, Col 2:13, 1 Tim 5:6, and many other verses say that we are dead until we are born again. We have two lives. We live physically as long as our blood circulates since our life is in the blood. We live spiritually, if we have the light of life, that is the spirit of man, that is the holy spirit. It is not the Holy Ghost, but it is the holy spirit. If we receive the light of men, then our souls will be living and God will consider us as living persons, for eternal life, and we will inherit the kingdom of God. Will you receive this light? Then you will inherit his kingdom.

We have studied just four verses only. But, we studied them in detail. We saw that God is one omni-power Spirit, who has 3 souls. God created man in the image of his soul. First day creation was the light of man, which is also the spirit of man. Without the spirit, man is a dead soul. We will continue next session from verse 5. You may write to me if you have any doubts to be cleared.

Thank you for listening. God bless you.
