Strait gate - Means

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

I am a retired pastor of the Church of God (Tennessee).
My name is Isaac Livingston. I am from Neyyoor India.

As in Matthew 7, Jesus Christ says: "13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." In the first 2 verses, Jesus Christ tells us to strive diligently to enter into eternal life. But false preachers teach that salvation in not by works. And they say that striving is works and so we must not strive. Since Christians desire to be free riders, they reject the striving of Jesus and accept the non-striving of preachers, saying that striving is works. Preachers say the work of our salvation must be done totally by Christ and by him alone, and if we do anything to obtain salvation, it will be works against Christ, and we will be damned in hell. This is opposite to what Jesus Christ has preached. Knowing that his teachings would be twisted and misused, Jesus Christ in verse 15, cautions us to beware of false teachers. He knew that these false teachers would appear outwardly good, but would be inwardly evil, deceptively teaching falsehoods that lead to spiritual death. These false teachings are sugar-coated poison. Beware of them, and be fully aware that the churches are disseminated by messengers of Satan. When Jesus Christ came to the world, there were almost no true servants of God in the temple. Jesus Christ says in Luke 18:8 "... Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" It appears that this time has come and almost all preachers are false in churches. Churches have become exactly as the temple at the time of Jesus, even the high priest became the enemy of God. But his disciples followed him until the end. So, follow him as a disciple, because if you become religious, loving preachers and show of churches, you will not enter the strait gate (it is tight gate). Wide gate and broad way leads to destruction.

God Bless You
