Who is God? Part 1 God is 3 Souls 1 Spirit- Trinity, Triune, 3 in 1

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

I am a retired pastor of the Church of God (Tennessee).
My name is Isaac Livingston. I am from Neyyoor India.

This is to educate Christians who God is, even though they already know. God is 3 souls or persons in one omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient Spirit. So, God is 3 but 1. I am not into the doctrine called trinity or triune, but I show what the Bible says. The names of the three persons referred in the New Testament are, 1- God the Father, 2- the Lord Jesus Christ and 3- the Holy Ghost. They have other names also throughout the Bible.

Who is God? Part 1 God is 3 Souls 1 Spirit- Trinity, Triune, 3 in 1

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.

Christians know who God is. But, Satan wants to poison their belief. So, Satan first deceives weak minded smart aleck people, who donít care for the truth of God a/c to 2 Thes 2:10-12. He deceives educated as well as uneducated people. 2 Peter 1:2 says Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. So, our knowledge of God is very important for us. 2 Thes 2:4 Satan opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. That is, Satan shows himself as God as Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Ghost a/c to 2 Thes 2:4, 2 Cor 11:4 & Matt 24:24. So, we must know exactly who God is, who God the Father is, who Jesus Christ is, and who the Holy Ghost is. Otherwise we will be deceived very easily. Our eternal life depend on it. I will give many scripture verses here for you to verify and remember.

Our topic is in three parts. This is part 1. This is about how God is three persons but one Spirit. Part 2 gives enough scripture evidence to show that Jesus Christ is God. Part 3 shows that the Holy Ghost is God and the holy spirit is the spirit of man. So, please listen to all the three parts to have full understanding about God.

Now, let us see who God is a/c to the Bible. John 4:24 says God is a Spirit: This Spirit is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. These powers are his power attributes. God is Omnipotent a/c to Job 42:2, Psalm 147:5, Rev 19:6, etc. Absolutely nothing is impossible to him. He has created from an invisible atom to stars much larger than the sun. God is omnipresent a/c to Psalms 135:6, 139:7&8, etc. So, he fills the entire universe at any time. God is Omniscient a/c to Job 26:6, Job 34:21&22, Psalms 139:4, etc. So, God knows everything even what we think. Nothing is hidden from him. So, with the omni-powers of his Spirit he is God. A/c to Gen 1:1, Deut 6:4, 1King 8:60, Mark 12:32, John 4:24, 1 Cor 8:4, etc he is one God in one Spirit.

Then, God has Soul a/c to Matt 12:18, Heb 10:38, Jere 5:9&29, etc. The soul is a person. God is 3 persons in one Spirit. These persons have different names. As his Spirit has power attributes, his souls have character attributes. We know God is love. But the servants of Satan also preach that God is love. The difference is, Satan preaches unconditional love but God says that his love is conditional. God gave his son on the cross a/c John 3:14. God sent Jesus again to turn his people away from their sins and iniquities so that they may live through him without sin a/c to John 3:16, Acts 3:26, & 1 John 4:9. Then God says to love him by obeying him. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. That is, God will love only those who obey him. God's wrath will be upon those who will not obey him a/c to Eph 5:6, Col 3:6, Rom 1:18, Rev 14:10 and many other verses. That is, God loves the world only on the condition that they love him back by obeying. If they do not obey, then his wrath is upon them. This conditional love and wrath are God's character attributes. This is God's righteousness. God also judges by his righteousness a/c to Rom 1:17, 2:5, 3:5, 22 & 25, 2 Thes 1:4-9, Heb 1:8&9, 11:7, 2 Pet 1:1, 2:5, and Rev 16:7. God demands righteousness from his people a/c to Matt 6:33, Rom 6:13, 1 Cor 6:9, 15:34, Eph 4:24, Phil 1:10 & 11, 1 Tim 6:11, Tit 2:12, and 1 John 3:10. God is holy a/c to Rev 4:8 and many other verses. God demands that we must also be holy a/c to Rom 12:1, 1 Peter 1:15, Lev 20:7, etc. So God commands us to obey him and to become holy and righteous as he is holy and righteous.

God is three persons in one Spirit. As one Spirit he is God as well as each person is God. The 3 persons are, the Most High God, God the Word and the Spirit of God. In the NT, their names are God the Father, the Son or the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost or the Spirit of God. In a few places, the Holy Spirit, who is the spirit of man, also referred as the Spirit of God. If God had not reveal these things, it will still be a mystery. When I was studying this concept of three in one, I understood this very clearly by an example. Let me share this example with you and I hope this will help you also.

I have a body. When I do a work you will see that my body is doing the work. But, there are three parts in my body jointly doing in the work, which you do not see. They are (1) my brain with the nerves intertwined my body instructing the work. (2) My heart with blood vessels intertwined with the body supplying the needed energy to do the job and (3) my muscles and bones of my body doing the job. So also, God as three persons uniquely intertwined in one Spirit body as one God. God the Father instructing as my brain does, God the Holy Ghost gives the power as my heart does, and God the Son is doing the Job, as my body does. We say that Jesus Christ saves us, he redeems us, and so on. Even though it is true, God the Father and the Holy Ghost are working with Jesus Christ. Three persons are in one Spirit. This is not the doctrine of trinity. But, this is what the Bible says. One important thing you could have noticed is that God the Father is the head or the brain of the other two. 1 Cor 11:3 says the head of Christ is God. But we see only Jesus Christ in all things.

Now, let us see the creation account in the 1st chapter of Genesis. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Here God is mentioned in singular so we can say that God is One Spirit. Vs 2 the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Here we see that the Spirit of God also is in creation. In Job 26:13, 33:4, Psa 104:30, Luke 1:35, Heb 10:5, etc we see that the Spirit of God, who is the Holy Ghost in the NT, is involved in creation with God the Most High and God the Word. John 1:1 says In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Here we see two persons as God in the beginning. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. That is, God the Word created all things. Eph 3:9 says that God, created all things by Jesus Christ: Here God the Father instructed Jesus Christ and Jesus created all things. If we include the Spirit of God as in Gen 1:2 there are three persons in creation as God. Let us see Gen 1:3 God said, Let there be light: So, Most High God said to bring the light. 3 there was light. That is, Somebody brought the light. 4 God divided the light from the darkness. That is God created the light from darkness. Who is this God? The Bible says it was Jesus Christ a/c to John 1:3 & Eph 3:9. So, Jesus Christ is called God even in Genesis. Also we see in verses 6, 9, 14, 20 & 24 God told someone to create and in verses 7, 10, 16, 21 & 24 God, who is Jesus Christ, created them. So the 3 persons in God have created all things as one person a/c to verse 1. At verse 26. God said, Let us make man in our image, etc. Here Let us and our image refer to the 3 souls or 3 persons in God. Man was made in the image of the souls of God. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; Here again God refers himself in single to show that the 3 persons in God works always as one Spirit. So, God is 3 in 1. In the NT the three persons in God are the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost as in Matt 28:19 & 2 Cor 13:14. The Son is the Word and he is Jesus Christ. Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. In a few places the spirit of man is also referred as the Spirit of God. The Father is the Most High or the Highest God. 1 John 5:7 there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. God is 3 souls in 1 Spirit.

Now, we are come to the very important point. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient in the Spirit body, but we are just flesh. So, God does not require us to do anything supernatural. But God has made our souls in the same image of God's soul. So we can do what Jesus Christ has done with his soul when he was a man. He lived a holy life obeying God. Will you live a holy life like Jesus?
