Jesus Christ is the author of the gospel. He tells his disciples to teach his commandments as the gospel, for people to observe, Mark 16:15-16 and Matthew 28:18-20. Apostles preached the same. And, Jesus Christ will take vengeance if we do not obey him, 2 Thessalonians 1:8.
The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the only Author of the gospel. Isaiah prophesied that the Holy Ghost has anointed Jesus Christ, who was sent from heaven, to preach the gospel. Isaiah 61:1 says "The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,..." Here the prophesy is that Jesus Christ is the only one person, who was anointed and sent to preach the good tidings, which is the gospel. Jesus proclaimed to Jews from Luke 4:18 that it is he, who will preach the gospel. It says, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,.." Jesus Christ did preach the Gospel when he was a man and what he has preached is recorded in the Bible. Matthew 4:23 says: "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, ..." Mark 1 says: "14) Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus Christ sent his disciples to preach the gospel even before he was crucified. Luke 9:6 says: "... they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere." So, Jesus Christ did preach the gospel, taught his disciples to preach the gospel and send them also to preach the same gospel that he has preached. If any of us preach the gospel, we must also preach the same gospel. "Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where." Jesus Christ gives his disciples power and authority over the devils and to heal diseases. Gospel is for eternal life and healing is for a sign. Signs follow them that believe the power and authority of God. Eternal life is given to those, who believe and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ says: "Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." What Jesus Christ has commanded to his disciples must be preached to all, for them to observe, that is to do them. "Hebrews 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;" Again, we cannot neglect what Jesus Christ has preached and escape the punishment. So, we must regard his preaching, therefore we have to obey him. "2 Thessalonians 1:7 .. when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints,..." His gospel is what he has preached and it must be obeyed. If we do not obey it, the very Jesus Christ that we think we love the most, will take vengeance on disobedient people when he comes to judge the world.
What are the main things that we must do? We must love God. "Matthew 6:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. John 5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. John 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me,..." We must fear God. "Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Luke 1:50 his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. Luke 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." We should not do harm to anybody. "Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." We must do good to all, specially to the true body of Christ. "Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."
"Acts 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." They taught 'his gospel' and also preached 'Jesus Christ'. "I Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ ... 2 Corinthians 2:12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, ..." Again we see that the disciples were preaching "Jesus Christ' as well as preaching what Jesus Christ preached as "the gospel." We also must preach Jesus Christ and his gospel that he preached. The gospel is the good news that tells us how we can inherit the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ preached that good news, and called it as the gospel. "2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." Here, we see that the devil cheats the people of God through subtlety, that is deceiving them as a traitor. Somehow the deceiver has convinced the church to preach "Jesus Christ" and call it as the gospel, but not to preach the gospel. Believing everything that Jesus Christ has done will not take us to heaven, but if we do what Jesus Christ told us to do to inherit heaven, will take us to heaven. What he told us to do, or what he has preached is the gospel. The churches preach all about Jesus Christ and call it the gospel, but they do not preach the gospel that Jesus Christ preached for our salvation. They tell us to believe the story of Jesus to go to heaven. This is a trick and deception of the devil. But the church does not realize this. The true gospel is not preached in Christian churches. Further, they found so many other gospels also. There is no gospel for prosperity, healing of sickness, etc,. Signs are not to be preached, but to demonstrate. We must preach what Jesus Christ has preached as the gospel. All other gospels are another gospel or false gospels. Knowing about Jesus Christ or chanting the name of Jesus Christ will neither save nor heal anybody, but obeying the Gospel that is preached by Jesus Christ will save people.
Church attending Christians are interested in the word of God, but also in ceremonies, traditions, rituals, etc. Most of them listen to sermons of preachers and think that it is the word of God. But what they do not know is that the preachers do not know the word of God and they study books of famous Christian authors, of course a few verses of scriptures are in them. These authors make doctrines from traditions, but not from the word of God, and preachers spread these doctrines in churches, and Christians got infected by these doctrines. In Mark 7, Jesus Christ says, "9 .. Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. ... 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye." Jesus Christ taught the doctrine of God, and people of his time admired his doctrine. "Matthew 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:" Those who gladly received the word of God, which is the doctrine of Jesus Christ, obeyed God and joined the church. As the part of the church of God, they were nourished under the doctrine of the apostles. "Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." They grew in the fellowship with God.
