"John 4:50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. John 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. 14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God."

Jesus did Miracles without a Show

We saw that Jesus went to Galilee from Samaria. Let us see (John 4) "verse 44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country." That is true, they will see the prophet as the next door guy, since he is familiar. "45 Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast." However, Galileans who saw the manifestations of God done by Jesus at Jerusalem received him. "46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum." Noble man means that he is a member of a rich royal family. Probably the noble man knew about the miracle that was done at the marriage house. Since his son was sick, he sought the help of Jesus. "47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. 48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe." Jesus told him, as well as he is telling us through scriptures, that generally we like to see the miracles first, before we believe his word. Jesus implies that we must believe his word first, then we may see the miracle. The man was desperate, he want to save his son, and he believed him. "49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. 50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way." That is faith, the father of the sick boy believed what Jesus said and went his way. "51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. 52 Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house." He believed first, healing happened at the same time, and now his whole family believed. "54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee." The first miracle could have been that he made the water into wine and the second is this healing. Both were done quietly behind the stage, and just the persons involved knew it. We all know, since it is written in the scripture. Otherwise, it was done in private. Now a days, if a miracle happens, or even if it is a fake one, the main purpose behind it will be advertisements, for profit and fame. Jesus was against the advertisements.

Miracles of Jesus are not duplicated

"John 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me." Look at this sick man. He had this sickness for 38 years. Scripture did not say how long he was by the pool. Jesus asked him, whether he want to be whole, that is, whether he want to be healed. He did not say; "Yes I want to be whole, or healed." Instead, he said that he had nobody to help him to take him to the water. Please bear with me, what did he actually want? He want healing, but not the water in the pool? He believed the miracle in the pool. His faith was shifted from God to the pool. Even we have the same problem. Let me make an example. Say, that we believe a famous preacher for our healing, but we will say that God will heal us. No! we do not believe God, but we believe that the preacher got the power from God to heal us. So also, this guy believed the water. I am not blaming anybody, but telling the fact. Now, Jesus was there, not to take him to the water, but to heal him without the water. Did you catch this? It is the high point of this incident. You can also be healed without the water, who is the healing celebrity preacher, but you need Jesus. "8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath." Please notice; Jesus made the man to break the sabbath law, but he was healed. Jesus also revoked the sabbath law rest, and gives the everlasting rest to his people. If you like to study more about the sabbath, I have the links at the bottom of the transcript page. You may like the study.

God the Father did miracles, Jesus was with him.

Verses 10-14 say, "10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. 11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. 12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? 13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." Verses 10 to 13, is about that Jesus healed him and about the sabbath. In verse 14, Jesus told the man one thing. "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." Christians hate this verse. But they pretend as if this verse does not exist. Churches consider the preaching of "sin no more" as heresy. But it is Jesus Christ who said that. I have a few lessons on this, and have these links also on the transcript page. "15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole. 16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day." Jews wanted to kill Jesus for breaking the sabbath day rest. "Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." But, Jesus gives eternal rest, even to the Jews. "17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." Jesus told them that God the Father has done this work, that is, if the sabbath rest is broken, it is God the Father who broke it. Jesus explained the miracle of healing as the work of God the Father, and he was just in front of the miracle, standing as the proxy for God, for the people to see. They got more angry because Jesus called God as his Father, and so they want the more to kill him. "19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel." Jesus did not back off, and said that they will see more such miracles, which God the Father will do. Jesus said that he could not do any miracle, because he was a man. God the Father did the miracles for Jesus. Even now, men cannot do miracles; and God does miracles for his servants.

Take away Points

We saw a few points. 1, Jesus did miracles not to advertise, but we know them through scriptures. 2, Jesus claimed that he could not do any miracles since he was a man, but God the Father did the miracles for him. 3, Jesus did not follow any tradition to do miracles. 4, Jesus told the man; "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, ..." This statement is the nut shell of all teachings of Jesus Christ. Yet, theologians and preachers say that "sin no more" teaching is a heresy. 5, Jesus broke the sabbath law of rest, and gives eternal rest to those who will come to him. That is it for the day.

What is the true gospel and what are false gospels?

Matthew 28:20, & Mark 16:15. Jesus Christ preached his commandments to obey, as his Gospel; it is the true Gospel to inherit Eternal life. Genesis 3:1-4 & 2 Corinth 11:2-4. But Preachers, who are Serpents of Satan, preach the life of man Jesus just to believe, but not to live as a chaste virgin, as the gospel; it is another gospel, which cannot and will not give Eternal life.

What will the true Gospel do?

The true gospel will convert evil people to do good and thereby they will inherit the kingdom in heaven. John 3:19-21 say that people are two kinds, evil and true. Evil doers will not come to the Light, who is God; but people of truth come to God for their deeds to be made manifest. We have good and evil people by our standard of our society or culture. These evil people may be converted to be doers of truth by the power of God, and they may inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.
