How to become a joint-heir with Jesus Christ in heaven?

"Mark 16:15 preach the gospel to every creature. Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded: Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega .. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, .. they .. have right to the tree of life, and .. enter .. the city."

How to become a joint-heir with Jesus Christ in heaven?

Most of us know that it is too hard to become a joint-heir with Jesus Christ in heaven. It is difficult and it demands true dedication. Anyhow, keep trying. It is possible to become the join-heirs according to the word of God.

1. How do we Grow in the Lord?

A. Born of the Flesh, and Born of the Spirit.

According to the Bible a true Christian will have two births. The first one is born of the flesh, and the next is born of the spirit. Jesus Christ says that we must be born again in order to see the kingdom of God. "John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." When a man is convicted of his sins by the Holy Ghost, if he responded with true repentance, God gives him the spirit of man, in order to pursue his spiritual life. "John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." In the same fashion a person receives a body of flesh at the physical birth, a person receives a body of spirit (the spirit man) from God as he is born of the spirit, which is his second birth. Now this person can see the kingdom of God because of the spirit of man. The spirit of man is the holy spirit, to study please click on this link: "Holy Spirit".

B. Born of the Water is by the Word of God.

Jesus Christ also says that a person must be born of water and of the Spirit in order to enter into the kingdom of God. "John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." Born of water means that a person must be washed by the water of the word and the person must become a renewed person. This means that he must obey the word of God as he continues in it. "Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word." As he is obedient to the word of God, the Holy Ghost will be with you. "John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever." As he submits himself totally to the will of God, the Holy Ghost will lead his total life, as a mighty wind carries a particle wherever the wind want to carry. "John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." This person is born of the water and of the Spirit. This believer enters the kingdom of God. If you are interested to study the details of born again, please click on this link. C. Must Exceed the Righteousness of Church Leaders.

"Matt 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." Our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees. One thing very favorable to us is the fact that they were hypocrites. But they were very religious and very zealous for God. They observed all the ceremonies and gave tithes even in negligible things. They prayed long prayers and witnessed for God. Even if some teach the right things, they did not obey their own teachings. We have to take this as a caution. So if we are zealous for the Lord, learn the truth and live according to the truth, then we have exceeded the righteousness of the Scribes and the Pharisees.

D. Sons of God Purify Themselves, even as Jesus Christ is pure.

2 Corinthians 11 says: "2) For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." In the above verse, "the simplicity that is in Christ" is taught as his simple godly love, which readily accepts unto himself any sinner, who believes that he is the Son of God and believes in his death, burial and resurrection. It appears to be simple and acceptable. But the verses says something else. Verse 2 says, that the Holy Ghost with godly jealousy want to present this bride as a chaste virgin to Jesus Christ. The simplicity in Jesus is to accept ONLY a chaste virgin and not an adulterous woman who simply believes something great about the Bride Groom. Ephesians 5 says: "26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." Here we see that Jesus will make his bride spotless. 1 John 3:3 says: "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." She will keep herself pure for his coming. The wrong teaching will encourage the people to believe great and marvelous things about Jesus Christ, but not to obey him to keep themselves pure. So, believe God, but not preachers.

2. Jesus Showed the Way even to Reign with Him

God, the Creator of all things that exist, became a man to bring salvation to us. He lived as a man, to show us a life of example, so that we may follow his steps to live a holy life. By his death, he became the author of salvation to forgive our past sins and by his resurrection, he is with us (if we are his people) turning every one of us from sins and iniquities and to take us to be with him.

A. God Became a Man to Make Men Holy.

John 1:14 says: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." God the Word became flesh, that is- God became a mere man--Jesus of Nazareth. 1 Peter 2 says: "21) For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22) Who did no sin,--" Jesus lived just as a man, for us to follow his steps. His life was without sin. 1 Peter 1 says: "14) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." He lived a holy life and tells us to live a holy life. Saved from sins is to live with no sin. Hebrew 5 says: "7) Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 8) Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9) And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" As a man, he submitted himself to God totally. He surrendered himself completely in obedience to God and he became the author of eternal salvation. This salvation is given only to those who obey him. "Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." We must obey him, with trembling and fear. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says: "For ye know the of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich", that is- God became poor so that the poor may become rich. Romans 8:17 says: "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together," that is- the mere men/women can become joint heir with Jesus Christ and be rich in the glory of God for ever. Jesus told his disciples in John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. If we follow him as his disciples, he will come to take us unto himself, so that we will be with him for eternity.

B. Sow to flesh, Reap Eternal Death; Sow to Spirit, Reap Life Eternal.

A reward is free, but it is not totally free. Even though you will not pay for it, you have to deserve it. Any reward will be of much greater value than the effort we have made. Matthew 16:27 says: "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." Revelation 22 says: "11) He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Galatians 6:8 says "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." We see that the reward is according to the work we do in the path of life that was ordained by God. The punishment for the work of the flesh is also called a reward and that is also according to our works. The rewards for the good works will range, from barely escaping the punishment of the burning in the fire, to sit in the throne of God with Jesus Christ, to rule with him, as a joint-heir with Jesus Christ, having the same glory as his. That means, the punishment also will be more severe than expected, because it also will be in proportion to the evil work of rebellion that a person has done.

C. Satan is still a Deceiver.

Hebrews 5:14 says: "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." Spiritually mature Christians who are deep rooted in the Word of God can discern the false doctrine of Satan. But how can an ordinary Christian detect the deception of the devil? They can discern by the following way. Look what Satan has done in the Garden of Eden to deceive Eve. Satan promised her that they will not die if they disobey God and eat the fruit. Genesis 3 says: "3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die." Satan is still a deceiver, and he says that God will not punish you because God is so loving. No! Obey God, do what God says so that you may with Jesus Christ.

D. God Reward those who Work Righteousness.

2 Chronicles 30:27 says: "their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven." So, God lives in the glorious place called heaven. Isaiah 64 says: "4) For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. 5) Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways:" The heaven is so glorious that even the description of heaven cannot enter in the minds of people. God purposed to give the godly glory to them that are in obedience, so that they may live with him, rule with him and be a part of him forever.

E. This is the True Gospel.

Jesus Christ healed sicknesses and done miracles. But, this is not the gospel, because believing those incidents will not save a person from hell and take them to heaven. Stories and gimmicks for healing crusades are not the true gospel. Preachers preach about Jesus Christ and ask people to believe it in pretense that it is the gospel. As good as it seems, it is not the gospel. What Jesus Christ preached is the true gospel. The story of Jesus Christ is information about the author of the gospel, but it is not the gospel. If it is presented as the gospel, it is not only a diversion from the true gospel, but their main intent is to hide the true gospel from people, particularly from Christians.

God has created the whole universe and all the things in it with its microscopic details. We are his creation. God has made us, our souls, in his image and put it in the body that he has made from the dust of the ground. Our body will return to the dust. But again, the soul is given a holy spirit, not only to guide the soul in holiness, but also to be his glorious body at the resurrection. And the souls will receive rewards according to whatever we have done while we were living on earth. Our life on earth is considerably short when compared to eternal life. If we have perfect obedience in this short life, as Jesus has suffered in obedience until his death (i,e; if we suffer with Jesus), then we will reign with Jesus Christ throughout eternity. Won’t it be marvelous? Is it not the good news? This is the true gospel.
