The Body of Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ

"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

The Body of Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead and was seen by his disciples for forty days and was ascended to heaven. At heaven he was anointed as God and then on he is in omni-power Spirit. Now he is God in Spirit. Nobody can see God and live. So, we cannot see him anymore, even though we may see visions and dreams about him. Jesus Christ lived as a man in flesh and bones. His resurrected body was unique, people saw him, touched him, he has no blood to bleed through his open wounds, walked through walls, etc. Now he is God in the Spirit, nobody can see him and live. He had an unique flesh body and now he has the omni-power Spirit body. In eternity, there are new earth and new heavens. It seems that people on new earth may be as Jesus was after his resurrection and people on new heavens may be glorified in the spirit. We will study about this as we go along.

1. Body at Resurrection to Paradise

Let us see first that how was Adam and Eve lived at the Garden of Eden, which is the paradise of God. Adam and Eve was complete with Soul, Body, and Spirit. They were in the Garden of Eden, which is the Paradise of God. Paradise is a part of heaven and so, their Spirit was already glorified and covers their body. So, they were not naked. "Genesis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." But, they ate the forbidden fruit, immediately they died in the Spirit. That is the Spirit departed from them, and so they have no glory to cover them and so found themselves naked. And so they were chased out of paradise. The minimum requirement to reach new earth is that they must have been born again, that is born of the spirit. At paradise, the spirit is glorified, and covers the body. Now, let us see what kind of body we may get, if we are in the first level, from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the mean time, if you like to study more about Adam and his body, etc, you may refer this link: "Spirit Body."

2. Body of Jesus Christ at His Resurrection

On the resurrection day of Jesus Christ, Peter is going into the sepulcher and saw this. "John 20:6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, 7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself." The napkin and the cloths were left at the grave. So just the body was raised. But he was always seen with robes, and so the robes were part of the resurrected body. Adam and Eve had their spirit (glorified) covered their body. "John 20:14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. John 21:4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus." Here Mary, also his disciples, could not recognize him by seeing his body. "John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you." He just appeared in their midst and the same way he has disappeared from them also. Saints in new earth and Millennium may look the same.

3. Pre-Requisite and how we will be in New Heaven

According to Acts 3:26, Jesus Christ is turning people away from their sins and iniquities. Ephesians 5:27 says Jesus Christ "might present to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." So, Jesus Christ is converting them to be holy, spotless, without any blemish for himself. Ephesians 2:6 Jesus Christ "hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" That is, Jesus Christ, pulls them out of sin and have their spirits seated in himself in heaven. As they die, they will sleep in him. Jesus Christ is doing this work for the last 2000 years. "1 Thessalonians 4:14 them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 16 the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then, we which are alive and remain shall be caught up with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:" So, Jesus Christ will raise and rapture them who were in him. But, the tragedy is, most Christians are taught to say that they are in Jesus Christ, while they are in sin. But no sin can enter Jesus Christ in heavenly places. If we are in sin, we are not in Jesus Christ. It is deception to say we are in Jesus Christ as we are in sin. But, one way we will know that we will be in new heaven is this: "Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." So, if we are lead of the Holy Spirit, but not by the desire of the flesh, then we are sons of God. One more verse: "1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." If we are the sons of God, then at our resurrection, we will look like Jesus Christ. How do we know for sure that we will be there? We will purify ourselves to be pure as Jesus Christ is pure. If we do so, we will be in new heaven.

God Bless You
