"Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe (do) all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 2 Corinthians 7:1 ... dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

Our heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask, seek, and knock. With it, we will be born of the Spirit, that is, born again as new creatures, become living souls, yield fruits, and then we will have eternal life. If we grieve and quench the Holy Spirit, we will be dead in spirit and lose eternal life.
The holy spirit is not God. Christians are taught that the holy spirit is God, mistaking for the Holy Ghost, who is God and one of the three persons in God. But it is taught that Holy Spirit is God universally by all teachers, which is wrong. Ephesians 4:30 says: "grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." This verse refers to the ‘holy Spirit of God’; not to ‘God the Holy Ghost’; the holy spirit is a gift given by God, but it is not God himself. Also, how can the almighty God be stamped as a seal on a man? Luke 11 says: "9) I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; 13).. how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" The holy spirit is a gift given to people from God. The holy spirit is the seal for eternal life. Ephesians 1 says, "13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory." The word of truth from Jesus Christ is the gospel, and it is the word of our salvation. When we believe in Jesus Christ, God gives us the holy spirit as an advance for our eternal inheritance, and it is a promise of God if we follow the guidance of the holy spirit. So, holy spirit serves us by guiding us and helping us. 1 Thessalonians 4 says, "7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit." So, God gives us the holy spirit so that we may live a holy life. And, we have to be careful not to despise God, by ignoring the holy spirit.
