We must be born of the Spirit, so that the Holy Spirit may lead us to eternal life. If the word of God abides in us, God shall give us whatever we ask. Instead, if we live our life and do our ministry, calling him 'Lord, Lord', etc, we shall not enter into his kingdom. If we are his disciples, he tells us to abide in him and have him abide in us, yielding his fruits for proof.
We have soul and flesh. If we are born of the Spirit, we will have the Spirit also in us. However, our spirit and our flesh will have opposite desires. They will yield different fruits. But, if we are lead of the spirit, we will have favor with God, and we will have eternal rewards. "Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." This passage speaks about the spirit life with the flesh life. If we have the spirit life, we will produce the fruit of the spirit. Verse 18 says that if we are led of the spirit, we are not under the law. This is very important to know. But, false preachers interpret this in a way that we are allowed to break the law, since we are under the spirit. No, the fact is that Spirit is above the law, so that if we are led by the Spirit, we will not break the law. The one that breaks the law is not Spirit, but it is the Flesh. So, the next few verses, 19 and 20 explains that if we do the things that are prohibited by the law, it will be the works of the flesh, and they that do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Verse 22 and 23 are the list of the fruits of the spirit and the law cannot be against them. But, if we just stopped with this verse, there is room for deception. For an example, love is a fruit of the spirit. But there is love of the flesh, love of the world, etc, are also there. Joy, peace, etc, are the fruits of the spirit. But they can also be of the flesh. So in order to get the true fruit, we have to apply verse 24 with it and then verse 25 also. Then the meaning cannot be twisted. In scriptures, context is very important. Verse 24 says that those who yield the true fruit of the spirit have crucified their flesh and lusts. If they have not done it, then their fruits could be fake if the flesh sneaks in, and if so, they will not inherit the kingdom of God. If we are lead by the spirit, we must give the true fruit of the spirit, but not the fake. "Ephesians 5:9 For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;" The fruit will not be fake if goodness, righteousness, and truth are with it. They will be of the spirit.
If we begin to say anything about falsehood or evil fruits, immediately preachers will rebuke us saying that we are not supposed to judge others. Let us also see what the Lord Jesus Christ say about the fruits. "Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit." If we look at their fruits instead of their enticing words, we will find the truth before it is too late. Let us look at a few more verses. "22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." It looks like our famous preachers are workers of iniquity, and they will not go to heaven. "24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:" Those who call Jesus "Lord, Lord" and make a lot of commotion are not the true servants, but those who do what he says are true servants.
